Captain Lautaro Martinez's superb effort proved enough to give Inter Milan a 2-1 win over Atalanta and keep the Nerazzurri top of Serie A.
Calhanoglu gave Inter the lead from the spot just before half-time after Matheo Darmian was brought down in the area by Atalanta keeper Juan Musso.
The Turkey international stepped up and powered a strong effort past Musso and into the bottom left corner.
Inter came out from the break firing and were rewarded for their hardwork when captain Martinez found space on the edge of the box to bend a wonderful effort into the far corner.
However the game was not done yet, with Atalanta striking back when Ademola Lookman nicked the ball off Inter leftback Federico Dimarco to square to Gianluca Scamacca for a tap in.
Inter held out for the remainder of time, but it was put truly to bed when Atalanta substitute Rafael Toloi was given a second yellow card for pulling Alexis Sanchez back.
