Azealia Banks returned to headlines on Thursday (Jul. 5), for calling out Nicki Minaj for biting her. The Harlem artist accused the Young Money Queen for jacking her mermaid theme, after seeing previews of Minaj's upcoming "Bed" music video. "Chicken of the sea sis. Stay in your own lane. @nickiminaj lol you running out of ideas girl," she captioned a photo of Minaj dressed as a mermaid," said Banks in a now deleted Instagram post. Her rant then shifted to Twitter, "Why does nicki Minaj have to be so damn corny . Like sometimes it's just like sis !!!!! Find some art !!! Please !!."
After making noise on social media, Azealia releases her new single "Treasure Island." "So so ashamed to be lost for the words, to let you know that I'm sincere. The pleasures are all on treasure island, How do I get you there?," she raps.
The record follows up "Anna Wintour," both to appear on Banks' Fantasea II: The Second Wave project due later this year.
